Na₂O — the hidden number: Most fused silica COAs do not list sodium, yet alkali content is one of the variables that affects devitrification. Chemsize reports Na₂O by batch — 24-27 ppm typical for Grade A — and reads it together with binder chemistry and firing history, not as a standalone pass/fail figure. If your current supplier does not report Na₂O, ask why.
